Have you ever heard the words ”stress can kill?” Most people who suffer from stress don't realize it until it is too late and it has effected them physically or emotionally. They tend to blame it on other issues first, such as their work is demanding, the kids are out of control or their relationship is going through a rough time. Stress can cause all types of medical issues and is a concern that most doctors look for.

How do you stop stress once you have figured out it has a grip on you? Look no further then what you love to do and do it more often. If a good book or funny movie will put you in a good mood, then do what makes you happiest. Don’t forget to do some physical activity during the day to let go of some physical stress as well.

Learn to guard yourself from stressful environments such anything that may aggravate you and cause your heart rate to elevate. If you find yourself in a bad situation, you should remove yourself as soon as possible. If you cannot leave the situation, take deep breaths, close your eyes and refocus. Think about something positive or a beautiful scenery that helps you relax. Listing situations that may make you stressed will help you prepare for when it does affect you.

Now that you have realized what makes you unhappy, you can use what makes you happy to fight off those bad feelings and negative emotions; take back control of your life. Listing to what makes you happiest can also help you prepare to react to stress ahead of time. If you should react in a negative way, simply realize it and talk your way through it if need be.
