If you were to ask random people if they thought they were eating right, they would probably say no. Even though people know they are supposed to eat right, many of them simply don't. If you need some pointers on how to eat right, the advice is here.
For starters, the general guideline for eating healthy is the food pyramid. Nearly everyone is familiar with this because they learned about it from grade school, but even though people know what it is, many still ignore it. The pyramid is a basic illustration of the six main food groups and how many daily servings should be eaten from each. For example, two to three servings of the milk, cheese and yogurt group should be eaten per day while six to 11 servings of the bread, cereal, rice, pasta group should be eaten daily. There are also recommended servings for fruit, vegetables and meat food groups. If you are wondering about eating right, this would be a good starting point to assess your food intake.
Many people also call dieting a form of eating right; this could be true to a certain extent. A proper diet could just be eating the correct number of servings from each food group. Deep down, you know if you are eating the right foods. On the other hand, dining out is not always such a bad thing. There are many restaurants around the country that have a variety of low calorie meals. You could still dine out, while eating correctly at the same time.
As an experiment, try eating right for the next month and see how your body reacts to the change. You just might be pleasantly surprised to how great and energetic you feel.
